Week 9 Affirm The Good

Our readings this week have been encouraging and up lifting, fitting of Thanksgiving.

Hannel states “Man is the sum total of his own thoughts; so the question is, how are we going to entertain only the good thoughts and reject the evil ones? At first we can’t keep the evil thoughts from coming, but we can keep from entertaining them. This is where a ready-made affirmation comes into play. When a thought of anger, jealousy, fear or worry creeps in, just start your affirmation.” Frederick Andrews comments “For myself, I never could find any help in denials, Affirm the good, and the bad will vanish.”

This affirmation has been very helpful for me “I AM WHOLE, PERFECT, STRONG, POWERFUL, LOVING, HARMONIOUS, AND HAPPY”. I have used it often at night when the worry “bug” strikes. With practice and determination, that “bug” goes away from me. As I practice this when anger creeps in, or fear tries to steal from me, or jealousy disrupts my flow of good, great relief follows and I become stronger. To know the truth is to connect myself with a power which is irresistible and will sweep away every kind of discord, inharmony, doubt or error of any kind, because the Truth is mighty and will prevail. This is my desire for you, that as I affirm this for myself, I am also affirming it for you.

I am, Thankful for each one of you.

Wonderful post Joan! I, too, find that affirmation useful for just about any situation that comes along! Isn;t it liberating to know the truth? The Truth shall set you free!
