Week 8 With Love

How many times have we finished a letter to someone and our salutation is “Love” or “With Love” or even “All My Love”?  The one I use often is “Love You Bunches”.  Since we have been in Mandino scroll II for the last 3 weeks,  love has taken on a whole new meaning for me.  “Henceforth I love all mankind.  From this moment all hate is let from my veins for I have not time to hate, only time to love.”

Having been a parent for many years we knew to always love the child and correct the bad behavior.  Just because someone misbehaves does not mean that we are to hate them.  I have had that very challenge, this week.  I must admit, as an adult, it can still be challenging to have much hate and uncompromising demands being hurled at me and not respond in like kind. Thanks to MKMMA, for changing my life and showing me new ways, for the purpose of life is growth.  And I am thankful for this challenge, as it is helping me along the path to a new habits.

As I mold my mind, plying my compass, and using love as my shield,  my thoughts are becoming constructive and harmonious, the result will be good; but on the other hand if my thought is destructive or inharmonious, the result will be evil.  It is evident that I am to hate nothing, not even the “bad,” because hatred is destructive, and I shall soon find that by entertaining destructive thought I am sowing the “wind” and in turn shall reap the “whirlwind.”

Currently I am on the “7 Day Mental Diet”, and I find that mental thoughts are difficult to control but it can be done.  The way to do it is to begin at once, at the onset of thought, to substitute constructive thought for that destructive thought.  In my mind I must learn to keep the door shut, keep out of my mind, out of my office, and out of my world, every element that seeks admittance with no definite helpful end in view.  My predominant mental attitude is what counts.  I choose to give love and consciously come into harmony with my power of thought.

I can be what I will to be.

I agree about the closing of most letters… And I use love so often that people often wonder if it’s overused. The mere thought that it could be overused is just proof that we all could express our live more. Great post. Have fun with the grandkiddies!
