Week 20 Persistence


Persistence is when you try and try to learn a new skill, never giving up.

Persistence is an effect that continues even after the cause has been removed or something that sticks around for a long time.

Synonyms: continuity, doggedness, perseverance, perseveration, persistency, pertinacity, tenaciousness, tenacity. Similar words: persistent, subsistence, consistency, existence, persist, consistent, insistently, consistently.

One of my personal pivotal needs is true health. For years now I have worked at controlling my weight and eating healthy foods. Several times in the past I have used a diet program, only to find I would return to the original weight after getting finished with the program. These were not programs that trained new skills.

Ten weeks ago, back in December, just before Christmas, I became angry at myself for not taking the proper action to achieve my new goals. I marched myself down to a new program that is a life style change. I am learning new skills to change the way I eat and when I consume calories. I am on a timed eating plan, and removing all sugar from my diet. I am down 23 pounds and feel so good. My joints do not hurt when I get up and sit down.

A complete surprise to me was when I noticed my stiffness was gone. (for those of you reading this that are of the younger set….some of these things come on as one ages) I am very active with Line Dancing and Yoga, I felt that I was doing well in that area of joint health, but this is better than before.

This new plan is so different from what I was doing in the past it has taken lots of persistent, consistent action to learn the new skills. No deviations are allowed to stay on track each week. It has taken everything I am learning in the MK to keep moving forward. Never giving up and the success is evident. Since this is a lifetime journey, it continues, and I see so much good from the process.

I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, healthy and happy. Joan
